  • 218 NGHS students have scored 1800 or higher on the SAT or SAT equivalent during the 2007-2008 school year

  • Newsweek Magazine rates NGHS #1 in Gwinnett according to Advanced Placement participation and test scores
  • NGHS Robotics Team qualified for National competition
  • NGHS Robotics Team wins Excite Award from MIT Inventeams
  • NGHS Football finished season #2 in the State of Georgia, Class AAAAA
  • NGHS Girls’ Golf finished #2 in the State of Georgia, Class AAAAA
  • Beta Club: State Beta President and Speaker at National Convention; $1000.00 scholarships to two students; and $500.00 scholarship to one student; First place in math competition and first place in science competition.
  • 31 NGHS choral students accepted for All State Chorus
  • NGHS School Council named “State of Georgia Council of Excellence”
  • 300 Art students were recognized at state, regional, and national level
  • NGHS DECA competed at state level and were recognized for student and club accomplishments
  • NGHS Band, Orchestra, Dance, and Drama consistently received superior ratings
  • 56 Latin students earned awards at the State Latin Convention with 15 first place awards, and 4 students earned perfect scores on the National Latin Exam (out of only 9 county-wide)
  • Model UN students were recognized as Outstanding Delegation – Mexico at the Model UN Conference in March
  • NGHS School Council named “State of Georgia Council of Excellence”
  • NGHS Baseball Team advanced to state level play
  • Girls Basketball Team advanced to state level play
  • Boys’ Basketball player selected as McDonald’s All American Nominee, and earned recognition by the Atlanta Tip Off Club
  • Girls’ Cross Country advanced to state level play
  • Girls’ Soccer advanced to state level play
  • Girls’ Softball advanced to state level play
  • Girls’ Swimming – one State Champion
  • Two members of the Wrestling team placed at the state level
  • FBLA student placed 2nd in state level competition in the are of Personal Finance and will compete at the National Convention in June
  • French placed first in the county and state in the Media Festival and are currently competing at the national level
  • French teachers were awarded “Professeur du Laureat” for outstanding student performance on the Le Grand Concours
  • 8 French students finished in the top 10% in the nation while36 students finished in the top 20%; and 52 students finished in the top 35%
  • NGHS Science National Honor Society Science Olympiad Team finished 5th in Region competition, with 2 first-place wins and 4 second-place wins
  • North’s fencing team finished 2nd overall out of 9 schools in state level competition
  • NGHS student placed #1 in the nation in equestrian competition
  • Air Force Junior ROTC unit received the “Distinguished Unit” award for 2007-2008
  • 8 NGHS students placed in the top 26 in the region in math competition in three categories
  • Varsity math team placed 3rd overall at Georgia Tech Mathematics Competition
  • Math students placed 3rd state wide and 1st in Gwinnett County in the Georgia Mathematics League
  • Math seniors placed 2nd in the Greater Atlanta Mathematics Exam, and 2nd place Oralist
  • NGHS Principal received “Distinguished Principal” Award from GASSP
