The purpose of the guidance and counseling site is to get students on the right track. In order to accomplish this task, we have a group of highly qualified counselors working with our students nonstop. These counselors have been assigned to certain students according to their last name. Use the following link to find your/your child's counselor and receive further information on them:

Frequently Asked Questions about the Community Service Log
1. Where can I get the log?
Pick one up in the counseling office, or on this web page (above).
2. When can I log in service hours?
Any service hours that you earn throughout your high school career (9th grade through 12th grade) can be included on your log.
3. What kinds of activities can I log in as service activities?
Service may include community, hospital, church, scout, school, or club activities that help others who are in need. Service to family members in special situations may also be considered (attach a letter explaining special circumstances). Of course, you may not earn hours for services for which you are paid.
4. When & where do I turn in my community service log?
At the end of your senior year, turn your log in to Ms. Blackwell in the Guidance Office by
April 17, 2009.
5. What does (40-99) documented hours on the log earn?
Community Service Seal on diploma, recognition at the Honors Breakfast Ceremony in the spring, and a certificate given.
6. What does 100+ hours documented on the log earn?
Community Service Seal on diploma, recognition at Honors Night Ceremony in the spring, and certificate given.
7. What does the senior who logs the most cumulative hours (over 4 yrs) earn?
Community Service Seal on diploma, recognition, plaque & $500 scholarship sponsored by NGHS PTSA
