Guidance Staff
The counselors here at our school are here for the sole purpose of helping our students stay on the right track and become successful in life. Each of our counselors have received the best collegiate training and are highly qualified for the positions which they serve. Our counselors have been assigned to help a specific group of students, based on the students' last names. Students' counselor is listed below.

Mrs. Vines has been with North Gwinnett since 2005, but has been with Gwinnett County for 19 years. She has attended three top Universities; The University of the Ozarks (Arkansas), The University of Georgia, and Georgia State University. Mrs. Vines said she chose North Gwinnett High School because, "I wanted to come to high school after elementary and middle school experience, and I agreed with the educational philosophy and vision of North Gwinnett's administrators. | Mr. Corban Cofer | |

Mr. Cofer has been with North Gwinnett since the year 2001 and has been a coach for soccer since 1995. Coach Cofer attended two of Georgia's finest schools, Georgia Tech and Georgia State University. Coach Cofer chose North Gwinnett High School because he thought it was a good community and it was close to home. He currently coaches Freshman Football and JV Girls Basketball.

| Kristin Rios | |
| Ms. Rios joined North Gwinnett in August of 2007. She attended Georgia State University where she received her Master’s in School Counseling and Berry College where she received her Bachelor’s in Spanish and Early Childhood Education. She previously was a Spanish teacher in Fulton County and an ESL teacher to children and adults in Barcelona, Spain before entering into counseling. She is excited about being part of the North Gwinnett family, with its focus on seeing all students reach their highest potential.

| Ms. Geer has been with North Gwinnett since the year 2005. She attended Cumberland College, Clemson University, and South Carolina State University. Ms. Geer said she chose North Gwinnett because of, "The positive attitude and professionalism of the faculty and staff; the focus on student learning and putting the students first."

| Whitley Greene | |

Whitley Greene joined NGHS in July 2006 with a background in Elementary School Counseling, Personal Counseling, Real Estate, and Leadership Development. Ms. Greene received her bachelor’s degree from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and has completed her certification in Educational Leadership. Additionally, she received a specialist degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University.

| Teresa Perez | |
| Ms. Perez joined the North Gwinnett family in August of 2007. She originally transferred from Miami, Florida where she was employed as a counselor for over 7 years. She attended St. Thomas University where she received her Bachelor's and her Master's degree in Elementary Education, Human Services and Guidance and Counseling. She has also taught ESL to adults in the community and is passionate about culture and diversity issues.

| Ms. Stewart has been with North Gwinnett since the year 2000. She attended Auburn University and the University of Southern Mississippi. Ms. Stewart chose North Gwinnett because of its high academic standards, its collaborative culture, and the staff's passion for helping the students.

| Julie Blackwell | |
| Mrs. Blackwell has been with North Gwinnett since the year 2002. She attended Indiana University. Mrs. Blackwell said she chose North Gwinnett because, "I live in the North Gwinnett Community, and when I interviewed, I instantly felt a 'sense of family' here." Students go to Mrs. Blackwell for scholarship and college information.
